Albedo Production was born to make a dream come true: a film-opera from Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi.

Produced in record time and directed by Damiano Michieletto with the participation of Giancarlo Giannini, the moviewas presented out of competition at the Turin Film Festival 2021 and broadcast by Rai Uno the very same year.

The film tells the story of Gianni Schicchi, a crafty Tuscan fixer, who manages with a clever stratagem to pocket the large sum inheritance of the elderly art collector Buoso Donati, who had just died, thus leaving the large crowd of greedy relatives, who rushed to get their share, high and dry.

The filming took place in the splendid Tuscan setting, in the province of Siena, between the municipalities of Trequanda and Pienza and Montalcino; between the technical and artistic cast, 237 workers were involved in 15 different locations for a total of five weeks of work.
